attorneys have experience with purchase and sale of multi-family properties where landlord tenant issues and ongoing
relationships are critical to a successful transaction. The Kumor & Hipple lawyers are also prepared to assist owners
and developers with condominium conversions to ensure that our clients'
business objectives comply with the Illinois
Condominium Act.
Bankruptcy: We are a debt relief agency. We help people file for bankruptcy relief under the Bankruptcy Code.
Family Law: The lawyers at Kumor & Hipple have significant experience advising clients for a wide range of
family law
issues. Divorce, Paternity and Related Issues: We have experience with matters related to divorce, legal separation,
annulment, child support, custody, visitation, paternity, maintenance and division of property. In particular, we have
expertise tailored to meet the needs of clients who own small businesses such as sole proprietorships, partnerships
and S-corporations where ownership and division of property claims are a primary issue in a divorce case. In addition
to legal expertise, Ms. Hipple has business training (M.B.A.) and significant prior financial services industry
experience, which is often critical to understanding complicated issues related to valuation of assets, liabilities,
income and expenses for a small business. As such, our team of lawyers is prepared to work closely with accountants,
appraisers and other financial experts to ensure that small business valuations are appropriately considered in a case.
Our team of lawyers also has significant experience investigating, locating and tracing hidden funds and assets where
necessary.
Adoptions: We also have experience with international adoptions, stepparent adoptions, adult adoptions and readoptions.
We find that this area of our practice is extremely rewarding and are eager to assist clients with adoptions.
Guardian ad Litem: Both Mr. Kumor and Ms. Hipple have been a court appointed lawyer to serve as a Guardian ad Litem to
represent the interests of minor children in family law and adoption cases. As such, we understand how emotional issues
can affect a custody and visitation dispute.
Mediation: It is often helpful or necessary for parties to try to reach an agreement on specific issues in their case
outside of court. Mediation is often required by a court or pursued privately by parties to try to resolve a dispute
before incurring substantial legal expenses. Ms. Hipple is certified to provide both family and financial mediation
services.
Social Security: We can assist clients with Disability, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Retirement and Survivor
Benefit Claims.
